My Fair Lady
Stockholm
For the musical production My Fair Lady, at The Oscars theatre, the old surround and reverb system where changed from Meyer to LDS Custom Series speakers. The new system will consist of 18 cabinets, six at each level, with an innovative “indirect sound” technique. The system makes it possible to get a complete coverage from each and every speaker, and by this way make surround panned sounds truly effective. A custom made centre speaker was also incorporated in the design. This was to keep the over 100years old theatre, beautiful ornament “angels” visually, as they are located in the usually place for a centre cluster. The speaker was to combine a superb sound quality with an almost invisible look. A curved version of a combined SP-88 and SP-48, resulted in a “CS-128C”. |

New Product series teaser
LDS Goes Classic!
Since the beginning LDS has produced custom design speakers to solve special problems in reinforcing sound. And even if most of the products have used planar magnetic technique, some of our customers have been asking for more conventional solutions. Now, after much demand, LDS introduce a series based on all the knowledge we have obtained during this process. The series, “LDS Classic”, will at the start consist of five different speakers: two sub bases and three coaxial. More information will be at hand soon. |

Göteborg
When the celebrated musical “Singin' In The Rain” where to be moved from the intimate Oscars theatre to the vast arena Scandinavium in Gothenburg, you would think that a completely different sound system would be necessary. But with the LDS speakers sound designer Jacob Julin and system designer John Wettersten was able to recreate the intimate sound of the theatre in a venue built for hockey! The system was stretched from 10pcs LDS-800/400 to 20, and as a compliment to the more than doubled stage width; a centre-cluster with 16psc of CL-100 was introduced. 12pcs of 2x18” sub bases completed the main system. Among the all around positive comments where “… the best theatre sound in a large arena we have ever heard..” and simply ”…fantastic sound”. |
