LDS SP-88


LDS SP-88 represents a loudspeaker technology based on the principles of the Homogeneous Line Source. A Homogeneous Line Source produces a plane wave front whereby all frequencies reach the listener at the same time.

The LDS SP-88 system is a special purpose unit designed mainly to solve problems with HIMID/HF coverage at obscured seats and as a delay system. The small size makes it easy to conceal and possible to mount where traditional speakers would stick out.

Another inventive use of the SP-88 would be a horizontally mounted continues row over the theatre’s proscenium. The line of SP-88’s makes an amazing centre-speaker that will give any system an incredible boost of intelligibility, source orientation and vocal projection.

The LDS SP-88 system is the perfect match for a larger LDS800 main system.

Each LDS SP-88 is equipped with eight Planar-Magnetic (ribbon) Drivers.

The eight Planar-Magnetic (ribbon) Drivers used in the LDS SP-88 employ an innovative high-tech diaphragm material called Kaladex®, from Dupont.

Each LDS SP-88 can be mounted either
horizontally or vertically.
